Some stories are well-suited to being told as “transformational stories” – stories that invite the audience to meaningfully change. Transformational stories can be the basis for healing rifts – whether within us or between us. However, to be “transformational,” it must be the right story, at the right time, for the right people, and told with an open heart.
In this 90-minute class, we will examine stories to discern what about them may allow them to become transformational. Stories will be provided for review, but students will be expected to provide the “bones” of 1-2 stories they would like to submit to this examination.
A tool for analyzing stories in this manner will be taught and used in the course.
