STF Bookstore

Calling all authors, editors, publishers, and illustrators: The beloved STF Bookstore will be run by volunteers during set 2023 conference hours for your selling and buying pleasure (and profit)!

You can bring your own new books, CDs, DVDs, and visual art to our Bookstore tables and they will be offered for sale, with 15% of each sale going to NEST.

We will be able to accept cash, credit cards, checks, and PayPal at the STF Bookstore. Credit card and paypal fees will be deducted from the 15% that NEST receives.

You do *not* have to be present at the Bookstore to sell your wares, though we invite you and all attendees to volunteer hours if you can at the signup link here.

People will only be able to purchase from the Bookstore when it is staffed, and staff must be available to sell everyone's wares equally.

Sellers must:

  • have full rights to sell their material
  • clearly mark prices on each item, including any STF discounts or bundles you wish to offer
  • round all prices to the nearest dollar (e.g., $15, rather than $14.95)
  • complete a form provided by NEST with a written inventory of the products you are selling, and tally the remaining items during checkout, from 12:30pm to 1:45pm on Sunday.
  • bring material for sale to the tables in the Langdon room during setup times of 3:30-5:30pm on Friday March 24, or when the bookstore is staffed and open during Saturday and Sunday hours. Please be kind to our volunteers when adding books to the already open Bookstore by doing your own set up and not interfering with sales in progress.
  • take all unsold materials back during closing time of 12:45-2:00pm Sunday, March 26. Any materials left after 2:00pm Sunday will be given to Tony Toledo and his traveling used bookstore.
  • donate 15% of total sales to NEST

NEST will:

  • set up and staff the STF Bookstore with volunteers
  • sell all items with equal attention
  • provide all necessary equipment for accepting payments to NEST by cash, credit card, paper check, and PayPal

Payments will go directly to NEST. After any electronic or credit card fees, sellers will be paid electronically or by paper check, less 15% of proceeds, to be mailed within 3 weeks of the end of the conference. The Bookstore will close on Sunday March 26 at 12:30pm. If sellers need to close out early, please make arrangements during set-up.
