• In 1896, an enormous tidal wave swept the coast of Japan. Entire villages were washed away. Thirty thousand people died. In one village, however, not a single life was lost, because of the actions of one man.
• In 1882 Ontario, Christie Ann Morrison got onto a steamship, to visit her sister in Michigan. Little did she know that she was about to experience one of Lake Huron's worst storms, in a ship that was never meant for deep water.
She is a Toronto storyteller with a passion for traditional folk tales and Canadian history. A regular host at Storytelling Toronto’s StoryTent, 1001 Friday Nights of Storytelling and StorySwap Canada, she performs regularly, leads storytelling workshops and coaches emerging tellers.
