Storyteller Bios:
Nick Baskerville is a husband, a dad, a military veteran, and a firefighter. He tells stories rich with experienced. By that, he means making a mistake and trying to fix it before too many people notice. Relaying such information lends itself to telling personal narrative stories and doing stand-up comedy.
A former journalist who changed careers to work in IT, Bonnie Gardner never lost her love for a good story. She has performed with Better Said than Done, in the Women’s Storytelling Festival and the Stone Soup Storytelling Festival, and is a Six Feet Apart story slam winner. She’s based in Northern Virginia.
John Kreul lives in Falls Church with his lovely storytelling wife, two mostly charming children, and one handsome mutt. He has been a federal civil servant for over twenty years, having moved to DC following his suburban upbringing in America’s Dairyland. He loves cheese.
Better Said Than Done Founder Jessica Robinson has performed at the International Storytelling Festival, on PBS’ “Stories from the Stage,” for the Queens Theater, Six Feet Apart Productions, First Person Arts Festival, Mostly True Things, The Story Space, at 2 National Storytelling Network Conferences, and the Forest Storytelling Festival. She’s shared stories on the Bonkers Brit, Full Spirals, and Funny Parents Podcasts. Jessica was featured at the Stone Soup, the Washington Folk, the Allegheny, the Florida, and the Hampton Storytelling Festivals, and was presented the 2023 ORACLE Award by the NSN.
Giselle Ruzany, M.A., L.P.C., Ph.D., is a psychotherapist, contemporary choreographer, and mindful movement practitioner. Throughout her journey, Giselle has been investigating the crossroads between dance, psychology and more recently storytelling, and how the world of somatic informs all these three art forms. For over a decade, she has practiced as a licensed professional counselor in Woodley Park, Washington DC; for more information, you can visit her at www.gestaltdance.com. On a more personal note, Giselle is a proud mother of two young men, a dog, and two cats.
Jack Scheer has been telling stories with Better Said Than Done since 2015. Prior to that, he spent nearly three decades telling other people’s stories as an actor and director in community theater. When he's not telling stories he enjoys travel, reading, and fantasy football (go Rogers Park Raconteurs!). Born in Greater Chicagoland and raised in Illinois and the DMV, he now calls Silver Spring, MD home.
Allison Stevens started her writing and editing career as a political reporter before moving into nonprofit and corporate communications. She lives with her family in Falls Church and loves hiking, attending live storytelling shows, and spotting grammatical errors in the field.

Andrea Young got into the groove of storytelling after speaking at an open mic night in September 2019. You’ll see her more often as an emcee but she also told stories through Better Said Than Done and Artists Standing Strong Together.
