Join us for an evening of Irish stories as Jim Hawkins recounts the life and stories of noted Irish story teller, Eamon Kelly. Eamon Kelly was a household name in Ireland, largely through the media of TV and Radio, as a Scanachi or ‘old Irish story-teller’. HE regaled the nation with all kinds of stories drawn from recollections of his Kerry childhood until his death. Along that journey, we will learn of Eamon’s various careers and what was the major influences in them. And along the way, Jim will tell Eamon’s stories as only a traditional Irish story teller could tell them. Born in Count Westmeath, Ireland, Mr. Hawkins grew up being fascinated by the storytelling skills of his relatives. Thirty-nine years teaching literature only reinforced Mr. Hawkins’ belief in the power of storytelling.
