Fran Stallings

FRAN STALLINGS is a retired university professor of biology and a lifelong storyteller. She has worked extensively with classroom educators to fit applied storytelling into their curricula. Stallings has performed at national and international storytelling festivals, in schools and libraries, and on radio. She performs primarily folktales from around the world, with a special collection of tales from Japan. She has produced several CDs and award-winning books of stories. She conducts workshops, residencies, and festival performances throughout the United States and overseas.
Training park rangers and zoo docents to use stories in communicating their concerns and content to non-scientists, she frequently presents story programs to environmental groups such as Nature Conservancy, The Land Institute, and state Native Plant Societies.
