Jessica Robinson

Jessica Robinson founded Better Said Than Done in 2011. Jessica began performing stories in front of audiences in 2007. In addition to performing with Better Said Than Done, Jessica has performed for Story District, Tales in the Village, The Grapevine, Stories in the Round, Perfect Liars Club and GMU’s Fall for the Book Festival, and at such venues as Jammin’ Java, Atlas Performing Arts Center, Town DanceBoutique, the City of Fairfax Library, The National Women’s Equality Monument, on the National Mall, Dance Place, Franklin Park Performing Arts Center, and the Walker Nature Education Center. Jessica’s one-woman show, “Tech Babies” – about technology, infertility and prenatal complications – was first performed in 2015 at Stories in the Round, in Hagerstown, MD. Jessica performed at Exchange Place at the International Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN in 2018, and, in 2020, was a featured performer in the inaugural Women’s Storytelling Festival, in the City of Fairfax, VA, and appeared on the WGBH TV show "Stories from the Stage."

Jessica’s short stories have been published in the anthology Sucker for Love, the anthology Roar: True Tales of Women Warriors – which won Honors in the 2019 Storytelling World Awards – as well as The Northern Virginia Review. She is the author of the urban fantasy novel Caged, published in 2016 under the pen name J.P. Robinson. Jessica has been leading storytelling workshops since 2011. In addition to Better Said Than Done workshops for individuals, Jessica has led storytelling workshops for INOVA Fairfax Hospital, George Washington University School of Business, AHRQ, The Brookings Institution, and the World Bank, to name a few.
