Jim Kissane

I delight my audiences, near and far, with fascinating and humorous personal stories as well as legends and historical accounts of Industrial America that have occurred over the past 170 years.
(If you want to see what may lie ahead, looking in the rear-view mirror can be insightful.)

I don't tell traditional tales or folktales, but my repertoire is a sizable collection of delightful original and historical tales, a few personal stories, and you may even occasionally hear an occasional tall tale.

My stories will introduce you in an exciting new way to colorful characters, interesting places, and important events of Industrial America from the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s. You’ll be captivated by stories I bring to life about Railroads, Mining, Foundries, Mills, Factories, Construction, Oil / Gas, Logging, Agriculture, Transportation, and Technology.
I love delighting my audiences in both physical settings as well as online “virtual” venues. I welcome the opportunity to create a custom storytelling event for you or your group that is particular to your interests.

My original oral stories explode with creativity, humor, and rare insights into natural or cultural history as I invite my listeners to discover ways that the past brings meaning to the present day.
