This monthly story time gives storytellers the freedom to tell the stories that are sacred for them, ranging from humor (“laughter is audible hope” – Beth Moore) to religious texts, from historical and personal moments to universal folktale lessons. We also take the time to honor and remember those storytellers upon whose shoulders we stand and from whose mouths we were taught and inspired. As we would say, “remembering those who are no longer with us in body, but whose words remain in our ears, minds, and hearts.” We will have a great diversity of storytellers, including, but not limited to, Ann Riley and Dr. Kim Harris. We will be honoring Jenny Makofsky, Phillip “Abiodun” Harris, and Opalanga Pugh. We are particularly delighted to have Oni Lasana giving our ½ hour end story which will include reflection about Opalanga. Join us for a precious community time.
