A peer of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone gave her life to speaking out against slavery and for women’s rights. She was the best-known speaker of her era, known as the Shining Star of the Woman’s Right s Movement, and she truly did change the world she was born into.
Judith created this piece as a commission from the Mass Foundation for the Humanities and Tsongas Industrial History Center as part of an initiative called Women in the State House.
