Jo Radner will host Jackson Gillman for the January 9 MOOSE gathering at the Portland Library, 7 pm. Come enjoy Jackson’s perceptions of life, astute and askew. A versatile performer who uses song, movement, sign language, and a fertile imagination to deliver his unique stories and enrich his audiences. Jackson has been dubbed the Stand-up Chameleon for his ability to transform into a wide range of engaging characters. He has been featured at festivals throughout the country and four times as Teller-in-Residence at the International Storytelling Center. Jackson will be joined by some of his students from his Wide World of Story class at Colby College. He also helps others develop their own personal stories during an annual Springboards for Stories workshop held this year on February 1-4 at Kipling’s historic VT home.
Before our feature, we will hold an Open Mic for original and traditional stories 10 min or less in the Oral tradition. (Tales are told not read however crib notes are acceptable for works in progress.)
