Theme: REFUGE
Place, Memory and Imagination
Sharing stories together of tangible and intangible places of comfort, safety,
and shelter.
OARS in the Water is a facilitated Zoom gathering on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month offered by Healing Story Alliance to create a listening space to share the experiences and stories that have emerged through this turbulent time. This is not a therapeutic circle but we do hope it will be healing, supportive and inspiring.
We’ll gather via Zoom. Here is the link:

About Our Hosts for August 11th
Bob Kanegis and Liz Mangual
From the day of their Puerto Rican/Jewish potluck wedding 35 years ago, Liz and Bob have celebrated life and story with diverse audiences, from Alaska villages to urban community centers. Through their initiatives like F.E.A.S.T! (Families and Friends Eating and Storytelling Together, and We Have Stories to Tell (in collaboration with the National Parks and the United Nations Association) their story based programs spring from an intention to illuminate and raise up a sense of community and connectedness. Bob’s storytelling sensibilities are seasoned by his background in environmental education and years of adventuring. Liz especially delights in sharing bilingual tales as a way to celebrate all languages and cultures. They both confess to having a terminal case of Story Fever-an incurable condition that causes them to always see life through the lens of Story. They are determined to spread it!
