The Seattle Storytelling Guild will feature Carmen Agra Deedy in a virtual concert to celebrate our 40th anniversary as a guild!
Born in Havana, Cuba, Carmen Agra Deedy came to the United States as a refugee and like most immigrants sees the world from multiple perspectives. Her personal stories first appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered. Funny, insightful, and frequently irreverent, Deedy’s narratives are culled from her childhood in Decatur, Georgia. Carmen will draw from her repertoire of personal, traditional and literary tales to offer one hour of her wonderful stories that have engaged audiences worldwide. After the concert, we will continue the gathering to discuss what has risen up within us in response to these sumptuous tales.
