Professional Speaker/Storyteller David Hill comes to Corner House Inn Nov. 15th
Storyteller David Hill makes his first featured appearance at the Corner House Inn Storytelling Dinner program on Thursday evening, Nov. 15th. David is a professional speaker/storyteller and a worldwide traveler specializing in remote adventure trips. His first-hand stories take you from the backwoods of Maine to high adventure on the ocean and deep into the Alaskan wilderness.
David has been in Toastmasters for 24 years, and been to 21 countries. He’s traveled to Alaska three times, twice on fishing trips. Last August he took a floatplane 75 miles up a river to the headwaters, getting out in waist deep water, and took 8 days to float by raft down to Bristol Bay. Another Alaska trip was a 100-mile bike race in February on the Iditarod trail.
Most of David’s stories involve first hand experiences. He masterfully recounts his tales sprinkling in a healthy dose of humor as they unfold. His favorites include a 160-year-old family business in Maine that began with a hike in the woods, finding 2 brooks, and building a water-powered saw mill that still stands today. Others include rescues on the ocean, a wicked good love story, and many more.
Storytelling Dinners are held every Thursday evening at the Corner House Inn from late October through May. The Storytelling Dinner begins at 6:30 pm and the price is $25 per person, plus tax & gratuity.
