This week’s featured teller is the amazing Lauretta Phillips
Lauretta has been telling stories professionally since 1987. She writes most of her own stories but her repertoire also includes folk tales, fairy tales, legends, urban tales, tall tales, small tales, cat tales, rat tales, and just plain tales.
She has told stories at churches, schools, inns, retirement centers, women’s organizations, seniors groups, and for radio and television in New England and the Mid West, on her own and as a part of the duet Sisters Too.
Here’s how Lauretta describes herself:
“I will tell you tales of old and of new. I will take you on journeys to places you have fond memories of, or to places you have never been.
I will take you to old places filled with God and to young places filled with love. We will go to the places of laughter and tears.
When I have told you all my stories, I will sit quietly and listen to your stories.
And when we are through, we will sit together, quiet, in that space between dark and dawn and listen as the earth breathes her stories into the silence.
Come, sit down, and let me tell you a story.”
