On Thursday evening February 21st master storyteller Ed Fayle, a Mount Washington Valley favorite, appears at the Corner House Inn’s Storytelling Dinner program in Center Sandwich. Ed Fayle has built his reputation as a whimsical and charming entertainer, delighting family audiences by spinning marvelous tales. With acoustic guitar and blues harmonica, Ed layers warm melodies around his stories. His performances swirl with campfire intimacy as the audience, teller, and tale connect.
Each December, Ed’s enchanting rendition of Chris Van Allsburg’s The Polar Express has long been recognized as a Mount Washington Valley treasure.
Since the inception of the popular North Conway annual event, Ed’s portrayal of the award-winning picture book has delighted thousands of families during a train ride to “the North Pole” and beyond. The Boston Globe said, “…The storyteller, Ed Fayle does an excellent, exuberant job.” Yankee Magazine declared, “…He still believes….”
Ed also writes and performs original stories, illuminating sparks of human grace found within compelling situations. Don Brown, the proprietor of the Corner House, says, “His ability to connect with and engage our guests, while weaving in folk guitar and harmonica, provides the ultimate storytelling experience – taking listeners on a wildly entertaining and exciting journey.” The Meredith News writes, “Ed Fayle is a master storyteller who revels in the beauty of the human spirit.”
A career teacher of English at Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire, Ed earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing at Emerson College in Boston. He teaches, writes, sings, and tells stories, often in cahoots with Heidi Fayle. They are married and live happily with their two children, Atticus and Bryn, in South Tamworth, New Hampshire.
Come to the Corner House Inn’s Storytelling Dinner on Thursday evening, February 21st, and be mesmerized by Ed’s winter program featuring story and song, rich in warmth and mirth. Storytelling Dinners are held every Thursday evening, late October through May, at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM and the cost is $25 per person.
