Making connections is why I love telling stories. Storytelling appeals to my desire to communicate, to teach and to entertain.

My stories come from a variety of sources; traditional folktales and fairytales from around the world, historic events and accounts, and children’s books. I also love telling stories that are personal experiences – like those heard on The Moth. My storytelling programs are varied; Halloween tales, Seasonal & Holiday Stories, African American folktales and Civil Rights stories in honor of Dr. King, Social Justice, Earth Day and Stories for young audiences. I tell stories for schools, colleges, libraries, museums, historic sites, festivals and private events. I have done storytelling programs in the New York Tri-state area as well as California, Georgia, Florida, Negril, Jamaica and Bali, Indonesia.

I often incorporate music and song in my story programs. Many of my program include live musical accompaniment.

I am a 2015 BRIO Award recipient for storytelling from the Bronx Council for the Arts. My debut CD, The Cat Came Back: Stories and Songs with a Jazzy Twist won a 2015 Parent’s Choice Award – Silver. I have performed concerts based on my cd with my jazz duo of piano and drums at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, Flushing Town Hall, Henry Street Theater/Abrons Art Center and for The Center for Education. I have been a featured teller at the Clearwater Hudson Revival Festival, Mohegan Storytelling Festival, Rockland County Storytelling Festival, Rowayton’s 2015 Tellabration and the Connecticut College Festival.
