Brendan was born and raised on Long Island, New York, a bagel’s throw from New York City. Thirty years ago Brendan unexpectedly found himself moving to Central New Hampshire. His first decade was spent learning to adjust to life in New Hampshire. From learning to rake his roof, to buying firewood for the first time, to trying to fit into the social setting of a morning at the dump, he found that these, and many more adjustments, would not be very easy for this Flatlander.

Still adjusting to this day, Brendan now travels the state telling his amusing tales of those years of adjustment. Since 1995 he has been recounting these humorous adventures as well as his take on life in general on the pages of The Weirs Times with his F.O.O.L. (Flatlander’s Observations On Life) in NH column. His first book “The Flatlander Chronicles” contains the best of those early columns and his new book “The Best Of A F.O.O.L” contains the best of the rest. Whether a new or seasoned Flatlander or a curious native, Brendan’s stories are sure to make you laugh.
