In and Out of Trouble

"Harley’s audiences are families, but it’s hard to tell who enjoys him more – parents or children.” Los Angeles Times

Intergenerational entertainment at its best, Bill's songs and stories paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of growing up, schooling and family life. Masterful storytelling and comic narrative songs will have listeners young and old laughing out loud. With slice-of-life vignettes about big trouble and simple pleasures, Bill’s rubber-faced abandon and keen memory will delight the entire family.

NEST Fest Family Storytelling Program

Papa Joe Gaudet - STF 2019 Joy Kelly - STF 2019

(ages 3 and up)

 3:30-4:15 PM

Papa Joe Gaudet emcees and three great storytellers tell three great stories!  Families are invited to join us for this storytelling performance of traditional tales.  You will meet the fabled Billy Goats Gruff on their way to greener pastures, the monster Nung Guma, and other fun characters.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Boston storyteller, Andrea Kamens, tells this traditional Norwegian folktale.  Once there were three billy goats who were Here but wanted to be There. It won't take long to learn your parts as the goats, the troll and even the trippy-trappy bridge in this delightful retelling of The Billy Goats Gruff.

Nung Guama

New York storyteller, Joy Kelly, will share the fascinating tale of Nung Guama.  A woman is threatened by a strange creature who promises to return that night—  “The terrible Nung Guama! The terrible Nung Guama is coming to eat me up!” What to do? Several passersby offer suggestions but the outcome is uncertain. This is an interactive Monster tale from China with a comic twist. No nightmares here!

How the Owls Got Their Feathers

Western Massachusetts storyteller, Gail Herman, will share a story from the Island of Puerto Rico that explains what happened to the Owls at the Big Bird Party!  Get ready to take part!
