I've been a storyteller for just over a year. I consider myself more of a writer and took a storytelling workshop to help with my writing. That led to telling onstage at open mic night with my classmates. Well, that evening was a surprise! It felt so natural to be up there and began an unexpected introduction to a whole new part of me.

My eyes now see every event, real or imagined, as a story unfolding. I have close friends who are storytellers who I didn't know a year ago. We are fast friends because we've shared our stories, lots of them, including the real, the raw, and the funny ones.

My world is more fun because of stories. I'm more patient and a better listener because of stories. Ugly, bad events are more tolerable because I can see all the good stories that come from them.
