Margaret tells personal and family stories with their roots in Canada, the land where she grew up, or in upstate New York, where she lives now–sometimes quirky, often humorous, usually touching tales about our all-too-human condition. She loves to include some local history and traditional folktales and myths.

She performs throughout the Capital District of New York and beyond at libraries, senior groups, community festivals, coffee houses, historical societies, women’s groups, and more.

She leads storytelling workshops, encouraging people to tell their own personal, family, and community stories. Stories told in a recent series of workshops, offered in several towns in upstate New York, were recorded by the staff at the Folklife Center at Crandall Library in Glens Falls, NY, and are available through their website.
