Meghann tells her personal stories with humor, candor and great vulnerability. She often shares about her experiences as a person with a Substance Use Disorder, chronicling her misadventures with addiction, incarceration, and recovery in a style that wins over the listener and allows them to better understand these issues by seeing the common humanity in them. She also leads workshops for people in recovery and those who are affected by their loved one's addiction, to experience the healing art of stories, learning how to own one's narrative, and how to use stories to remove the shame and stigma around the issues of addiction and incarceration. Her goal is for workshop participants and listeners to experience healing and to leave feeling connected and empowered to go out into the world and to help others by sharing their stories. Meghann also shares her stories for social justice purposes, speaking at a wide variety of venues including Harvard Law School, Wellesley College, the MA State House, and at countless churches, rallies and vigils.

We could have heard pins drop as you spoke, Meghann. The fact that several people spoke during their sharing time about family members struggling with addiction made your talk all the more powerful. ~ Claire B.

As a new minister here, I was struck by how open people were in sharing their stories with Meghann. You really connected and made people feel safe. It helped me in a way that I never would have anticipated by creating a safe place here. It's important to send a clear message that church is where we can talk about addiction and incarceration. ~ Janet P.
