You got BURNED and we want to hear about it! Stories too hot to hold are the theme for the First Person Arts November ‘Bucket Slam’. For November the theme is…you guessed it…‘BURNED.’ NEW this season. Send the first line of your story to stories@firstpersonarts.org for a chance to be guaranteed 1 of 4 spots to tell your story live. That first line should catch our attention, draw us in and connect your story to the theme of the night. If selected, you will receive free admission to the Slam and early entry into the venue to save seats for your friends and family. If you’re not selected, we’ll put your name into the bucket. You could still be selected to share your story of the burn! For November the theme is ‘Burned’ – stories that are still too hot, were you hoodwinked, scolded or just in the sun too long!? When a stranger gets on stage you never quite know where it might go. Host Chris Lundy makes sure the laughs happen between the heartfelt, the absurd, and hilarious stories that are a part of this guaranteed good night out. Volunteer on the night, or storytellers can get to the top of our ‘bucket list’ by messaging marketing@FirstPersonArts.org with the headline of their story! If your name gets picked from the bucket you get 5 minutes on stage to share your truth in a safe space for all. Panel favorites get $100 dollars in gift cards and a slot in the GrandSlam event next year. All shows in The Lounge are General Admission and seating is not guaranteed with ticket purchase. Tellabration!TM is a project of the National Storytelling Network www.storynet.org Producer Kate Dudding explains, “Bram Stoker wrote in “Dracula”: “It is really wonderful how much resilience there is in human nature." Come hear nine stories of people and ideas defying destruction.
