Story Slam Training

Saturday, November 14 from 1:00-2:30 pm

Pat and Amy will cultivate an accepting space for you to bring your work and offer assistance in developing your piece into a compelling story.  Participants will share a story, or part of one, and receive feedback from others in the circle. You will also listen to the other stories and offer your thoughts, which helps you develop an understanding of what works and makes a story strong.

Pat Spalding lives in Rye, NH.  She is a monologist/majorette who spins tales around town and twirls a baton with the Leftist Marching Band (although not simultaneously.)  Pat has written and toured several original shows including: We Stayed Together For the PuppetsA Bomb In the Closet, and Dancing With Dad.  For the last six years she has focused on her role as emcee of True Tales Live, a monthly program of first person storytelling that, pre-Covid, was recorded  in front of a live audience at PPMtv in Portsmouth.   Now, through the wonders of Zoom she listens to, learns from, and encourages the stories of others. Find out more at http://truetaleslivenh.org or http://patspalding.com “stories - for grownups”

Amy Antonucci is a founding member of True Tales Live based in Portsmouth NH and the True Tales Live storyteller coaching program. Since 2014, TTL has been bringing the community together to hear each other's stories, first on radio, then TV, and now Zoom!  She has enjoyed sharing her own stories on True Tales Live and at other programs, including the SoBo Story Slam in Maine.  Amy is also co-owner of Living Land Permaculture Homestead in Barrington, NH, teaches Sacred Circle Dance and Frame Drumming, and believes in the power of people and stories to transform our world.
