Their stories are go beyond those of victim and sainthood and reveal the moments in between. You will hear stories that reflect joys and triumphs and disappointments. Poignant stories, funny stories. Stories of being human. You will also hear stories about encounters with racism, prejudice, microaggression. Often, one story encompasses both realities. Most of all, you will hear stories where you just might find … yourself. One story even takes place in west Haven. Come hear if you can identify which one The ensemble has performed throughout the State of Connecticut and they were featured at the National Storytellers Network Annual Conference. They have enjoyed standing ovations and have been described by one CT shoreline librarian as the “best programming we’ve presented in ages.”

OARS in the Water is a facilitated Zoom gathering on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month offered by Healing Story Alliance to create a listening space to share the experiences and stories that have emerged through turbulent times.
